    We have a team of 20 plus staff members at Victoria & 54th Dental. Some of our employees have been with us for more than 30 years and are passionate about helping patients with all their dental and insurance needs. Our goal is to make your trip to the dentist relaxing and stress-free.

  • Dr. Benson Fung

    Languages spoken: English, French, Mandarin and Cantonese

    Dr. Benson Fung was born and raised in Vancouver and attended Windermere Secondary School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at the University of British Columbia and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from Indiana University. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan.

    From Michigan, Dr. Fung ventured to the warm, welcoming and diverse region of Southern California, where he was an attending surgeon at UCLA and made the family-oriented Yorba Linda area his home. He operated a successful dental practice there from 2001 through 2014.

    Dr. Fung approaches patients and their dental needs with a depth of dental experience combined with a creative, personal manner. He integrates science, technology and art to create the smiles his patients have always wanted.

    Dr. Fung is proud to return to his hometown as a member of the clinical team at Victoria & 54th Dental. He looks forward to building on the incredible tradition of care that has been established over the past 40 years.

  • Dr. Aman Dhaliwal

    Languages spoken: English

    Dr. Aman Dhaliwal completed a bachelor degree in kinesiology and masters degree in physiotherapy from UBC in 2006. After practicing for a number of years he made the change to dentistry.

    He completed his doctor of dentistry degree at the University of Sydney.
    Dr. Dhaliwal endeavours to establish patients’ strong oral health, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to support enduring smiles.

    In his spare time he likes to travel and hike the beautiful mountains of British Columbia.

  • Dr. Edward Lawson

    Languages spoken: English

    Dr. Lawson was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. He received his BSc. in Human Physiology and DMD at UBC.

    A passionate and dedicated professional, Dr. Lawson attends numerous continuing education courses each year to keep current with the latest developments and technology. He has always been focused on developing long term, meaningful relationships with patients.

    Dr. Lawson for the previous 20 years had owned his own Dental Clinics in Hope and Chilliwack. He has now chosen to move back to his hometown of Vancouver. When not at the office, he enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with his wife and four sons.

  • Dr. Devin Jones, B.S.C., D.D.C.

    Languages spoken: English

    Devin was born and raised in Ottawa, ON. After completing a BSc. in Biology at Western University in London, ON he went on to receive his degree in Dentistry from Dalhousie University in 2010. In 2011, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB, which, in addition to providing additional training and experience in all areas of dentistry, focused on the treatment of medically compromised patients. Following completion of the residency, Devin’s keen interest in windsurfing took him to Perth, Western Australia where he continued to practice dentistry (and chased waves on weekends!). After returning to Canada, as an active individual with a passion for the outdoors, he joined Victoria & 54th Family Dentistry in April 2017.

    Devin remains active in pursuing continuing education in many areas of dentistry to continue to expand his skills to provide the best possible care for his patients.

  • Dr. Danny Shum

    Languages spoken: English, Cantonese

    Dr. Danny Shum was born in Calgary and moved to the Lower Mainland at an early age. He completed an Honours degree from Simon Fraser University and following that, went on to Boston University’s dental school earning Magnum Cum Laude. He is a proud member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) which is the National Dental Society that promotes and recognizes scholarship and character among dentist.

    Dr. Shum is also grateful to receive the Excellence in Patient and Practice Management Award. Thereafter, he furthered his education by pursuing residency training with an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program.

  • Dr. Jay Y. Lam

    Languages spoken: English, Cantonese and Mandarin

    Raised in Delta, BC, Dr. Lam earned a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science degree and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of British Columbia.

    Throughout his education and early career, Dr. Lam received numerous awards for his academic aptitude and community involvement, including the prestigious Dr. John Blatherwick Award in 2011, the Carlos Carrillo Memorial Community Service Award in 2015 and the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Outstanding Senior Student Award in 2016.

    He has been on exchange to Korea and Japan, and on an oral surgery externship in New York. Dr. Lam serves as a mentor for dental students, and intends to continue his services as a clinical instructor in the future.

    In his free time, he enjoys skiing, dancing, and walking his dog.

  • Dr. E Bruce Kennedy

    Languages spoken: English, French

    Dr. E Bruce Kennedy is semi-retired and is not accepting new patients.

    Dr. Kennedy was born in Boston, Massachusetts and was raised in Lachine, Quebec. He completed a degree in electrical engineering at McGill University in 1970. He then went directly into dental school at McGill and graduated in 1974. Dr. Kennedy moved to Vancouver to begin his practice after graduation.
